Finding an AA meeting in Cherry Hill
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a free, peer-led fellowship built around a 12-step program. Members stay anonymous, and there are about 87,000 groups worldwide. Meetings let people in recovery share experience and support one another. Many new members pair with a sponsor, an experienced member who offers guidance and accountability. Sponsors are peers, not trained therapists.
AA and professional treatment do different jobs. AA offers ongoing community support. Rehab offers structured care, including medical detox for safe withdrawal under medical supervision. Some treatment programs include AA meetings.
When patients graduate from The Recovery Village Cherry Hill at Cooper, their aftercare plan connects them with the people and resources that support lasting recovery, and support groups can be part of that plan. Learn what an AA sponsor does, or browse more South Jersey recovery resources.
